I've looked at the Codeweavers site but their forum posts on the topic make it sound like its big PITA to set up Quicken 2019 and get it to work all the time. However, if there is some way that isn't expensive to get it run on my 2019 Macbook with Catalina without it taking up massive space on my SSD or being too much of a PITA to set up I will do it. The one other account I use Web Connect where I download the transaction file from my bank and import it into Banktivity. All but one of my accounts are Direct Connect, which is free. I don't even pay for Banktivity's Direct Access. It's way better than Quicken Mac, has a great budget module, easy to construct reports, downloads and tracks your investments, has dark mode and syncs to your mobile device flawlessly.Īnd, there's no "sunsetting" or subscription for the software.

How can you have a personal finance software where you can't correctly budget?Īs an aside.if you're considering a Mac alternative, I would suggest you download the free Banktivity 7 trial and see if that meets your needs. Six years and counting and they still haven't figured out a way to get this to work? It's also been promised by the Quicken Mac moderator for over a year. The Quicken Community shows that this is THE NUMBER ONE requested feature for Quicken Mac. All you have to do is be able to select your cash flow accounts so that it's a "one sided" amount, and then these amounts would show up in the budget.
This is just a simple drop down account filter selection box, in my opinion. That means that your mortgage principal payment or any retirement withdrawals cannot be accounted for during budgeting.

My biggest gripe? Since they started with the "new" Quicken for Mac in 2014, they STILL have no way to account for money transfers in the Budget.
